Restrictions were lifted a week later. The health inspectors also served a closure notice on Pauline Lukaso of the Akatshi Grill, a food stall at Pier Car Park, Donegal Town. The closure order in that case has been lifted.Prof Alan Reilly, Chief Executive, FSAI expressed his disappointment at the lack of vigilance by some owners in ensuring their food businesses are fit for purpose and fully compliant with food safety legislation. “The legal onus is on food businesses to ensure that the food they serve is safe to eat in accordance with the legislation.  There is absolutely no excuse for negligent practices,” said Prof. Reilly.“Greater focus is required to ensure standards are not permitted to slip, thereby potentially putting the health of consumers at risk.“Again and again, we encounter cases involving improper storage of foodstuffs and poor cleaning and sanitising.  These breaches are completely avoidable when food businesses have proper food safety management systems in place.” HEALTH CHIEFS CLOSED DONEGAL RESTAURANT OVER HYGIENE BREACHES was last modified: September 6th, 2013 by John2Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:Anne Sweeneyclosure orderDanaan’sDunfanaghyOyster Barlast_img
