‘Proper’ hand washing protects against infection, says DOH

According to the WorldHealth Organization (WHO), the following steps can be followed: wet hands withwater; apply enough soap to cover all hand surfaces; rub hands palm to palm;put right palm over left dorsum with interlaced fingers and vice versa; putpalm to the other with fingers interlaced; put backs of fingers to opposingpalms with fingers interlocked; do rotational rubbing of left thumb clasped in rightpalm and vice versa; do rotational rubbing, backwards and forwards with claspedfingers of right hand in left palm and vice versa; rinse hands with water; drythoroughly with single use towel; and use towel to turn off the faucet.
