Donegal man elected as President of Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland

first_imgGweedore Pharmacist Rory O’Donnell has been appointed as President of the Council of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland. Rory O’Donnell is a community pharmacist at O’Donnell’s totalhealth Pharmacy in Gweedore.O’Donnell will now head the PSI – Ireland’s pharmacy regulator which acts to protect and promote the health, wellbeing and safety of patients and the public. He was elected as Vice-President to the council in 2016, before getting the new appointment on June 22nd 2017. O’Donnell qualified in pharmacy from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen and holds a Science degree from Trinity College Dublin, as well as a diploma in Diabetes Management.He has undertaken professional development with the Irish Management Institute and the Institute of Directors in Ireland.He served as President of the Irish Pharmacy Union from 2012-2014 and recently completed a term as President of the Pharmacy Benevolent Fund. He is currently Chairman of hmR Ireland.
