first_imgSHAY Given got a warm reception from Middlesbrough fans as he made his debut – and celebrated his 600th club appearance with a clean sheet.Boro held on for a 1-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers on Saturday and Given hailed it as a “perfect day.”Writing on his Twitter account, the 37-year-old said: “Great to be back in action today… [and] also to make my 600th club [appearance]. A clean sheet but more importantly the three points made a perfect day.” Given joined Championship side Middlesbrough on a month-long loan deal from Aston Villa, prior to the deadline for emergency loans.He was quick off his line to deny Beckford a chance after ex-Sunderland midfielder Leadbitter had played a dangerous back-pass after the interval.Boro took the lead in the 82nd minute through a penalty.But then Bolton earned their own penalty and with Given doing his best to put Jermaine Beckford off, the Bolton man blasted the shot high over the bar.  IT’S GOOD TO BE BACK!
